What role will you be playing in the committee?

I’m the new Content Officer and along with the External Communications Officer and the Digital Officer I’m part of the marketing team of LIRG. I’m primarily responsible for updating the blog but the team will work together to get useful information out to you as members of the LIRG special interest group.

What is your day job?

By day I’m the Open Access and Digital Scholarship Librarian at Liverpool John Moores University. Practically what this means is I am part of our Researcher Engagement Team and along with our Research Support Librarian support Postgraduate Researchers and research active staff at the University. I manage our institutional repository and our Open Journals Service as well as contributing to our training programme for researchers.

What do you hope to bring to the committee?

I hope to bring my experience of promoting research and supporting researchers to the committee. I am passionate about open research and am looking forward to supporting and raising the profile of library and information science research.

When you aren’t working what do you enjoy doing?

I am a keen runner and aim to get out regularly, I particularly enjoying running along the promenade where I live. I also enjoy baking, especially cakes, so it is a good job I run to keep the calories in check.
