Words and sound - using blogs and podcasts to disseminate research to diverse audiences - Tuesday 30th September 2025 - 12 -2 pm

Blogs and podcasts have been around for several decades and remain two incredibly effective ways of communicating research. The academic community was quick to adopt blogging, but with the advent of generative AI, new opportunities and threats have surfaced.

The course will explore how to write engaging blog posts, including the benefits of employing AI in a useful and meaningful way, without giving up your own voice. Delegates will also learn the basics of how to create, record and host their own podcast. The course will also cover the intersection between the two formats and how they can work together to enhance your research communication activities.
