Hello colleagues,
There are a couple community libraries / archives being set up by some community groups locally, and I was wondering what experience you have had in supporting these libraries and archives and working in partnership with them.
Some are specific to one specific topic (art) and some with a focus from a particular community within the local area.

After spending most of my morning editing a new poem The Forest Queen, here are the first two in my new series of Poetry Postcards. Anyone wanting to see the postcards will need to click on the images in my post. I wonder whether librarians might encourage and enable poets in local writers groups to do something like this to share their work through their public libraries networks?

Afternoon everyone, hope all are well.
We are fortunate in the Isle of Man to have had no new positive cases for almost three weeks, and our libraries were allowed to open from the 20th May (with 24 hours notice!). Public libraries are offering a range of services from collection points to restricted opening with social distancing in place, and we are trying to prepare to resume our Mobile Library service. So far we have managed to do 2 weeks of contactless doorstep deliveries of quarantined, cleaned books and audios, and are going to do this every 4 weeks until we can get our vehicle back on the road and have our borrowers come to us (it's hilarious trying to find some of the addresses - our road and house names can be difficult to say the least). What I'd like to know is - what is everyone else doing, what are you planning to do, and have you had access to any relevant information about screens etc on your vehicles? I appreciate that you will not be able to return to work until early July and even then it won't be an open to the public service in many cases. I know that UK libraries will have the benefit of their local authority H & S departments but we're a small charity run service with a small staff and as the only Mobile Library on the IOM looking for help from our Mobile family across the British Isles. Any answers or advice gratefully received.

Dear CILIP Public & Mobile Libraries Group,
I wonder if you can help - a client of mine has just revised their book and released the second edition (The Life You Can Save by Peter Singer).
I'm guessing it differs library to library, but as public librarians how do you decide which books you want to include in your library and how do you order them? One fellow CILIP member was telling me how when she was a public librarian, they would meet as a group of librarians and discuss new books and judge by specific criteria. Then they would order through an online system through their reseller.
I'd love to hear your feedback about this. It's better to be getting this information how you need.
How do you find out about new books? I asked some of the booksellers, but they said they did not send out alerts about new books as they get too many - so how do you find out about which to consider? How do you want to receive information about new books/revised editions?
Peter has made the ebook and audiobook (including chapters by Stephen Fry and Kristen Bell) free to download directly from their website (http://bit.ly/2qkZALX) - is this something you would download and host? I got the impression from a survey I did on Twitter that librarians are not interested in free audiobooks/ebooks - though that was a tiny data sample and may be completely wrong! It can be downloaded in multiple formats. I confirmed with them that they are happy for libraries to download this version from their site for free. You will find the ebook and audiobook available through other channels at a cost - it's only from their website that you can get it for free (http://bit.ly/2qkZALX).
Any advice you can give would be fantastic. Thanks so much.

Hello everyone,
I'm completing an undergraduate degree in Information and Library studies with Aberystwyth University and am currently carrying out my dissertation research on 'How public libraries in England are engaging with their communities to decrease levels of loneliness and social isolation and improve levels of well-being'. I am looking for paid staff working in public libraries across England to complete a short online questionnaire on this topic.
My research is looking at how public library services across England are looking at the issue of loneliness and social isolation and I am investigating staff opinions about loneliness in communities and public library approaches to this issue.
If you are willing and happy to participate in this research, please complete the questionnaire linked below. The questionnaire is primarily multiple choice questions and should take 5-10 minutes to complete.
