We are pleased to introduce a new bursary for CILIP members living, working or studying within the North East Member Network. This financial support can be used to attend training events, workshops, conferences or anything which is CPD related.
How to apply?
Please complete the application form available on this page: You’ll see it includes important information such as :
Your name, preferred email contact address, the organisation you work for (if appropriate) and CILIP number
What you are applying for e.g. name of course, date, location.

How this particular event/conference will enhance your own personal development.
How you plan to use the new knowledge and skillsThe total amount sought.
The application will be anonymised and sent to committee members for judging.
The value of the award is at the discretion of the Committee and is dependent on available funds.
We also recommend that you apply well in advance of the activity so that your entry and be received, judged and awarded (if successful).
The Committee’s decision is final and no correspondence can be entered into.
The Committee reserves the right not to award the Bursary if appropriate or if funds have already been allocated.
Applicants will be notified by the Secretary as soon as possible after the decision is made.
Requests for funding relating to Higher Education Courses will not be accepted.
In addition, North East Member Network will not award a bursary if part funding has already been awarded from other bursary awards, sponsors or your employer.
The bursary is not intended to supplement or replace an employer’s obligation to fund training courses necessary for the execution of the applicant’s job.
Applicants in employment or higher education should seek approval from their organisation before submitting an application for funding.
Applications for the Bursary can be submitted at any point during the year.
The bursary is designed to cover attendance fees and travel. Conference accommodation costs would also be considered for funding. If different standards of accommodation are on offer, the assumption would be that standard accommodation would be selected, unless there were valid reasons why this would not be appropriate.
Funding will be available in Umbrella conference years to cover the costs of attendance at the conference. Applications for the Umbrella Conference will take priority over other events and are particularly welcomed from members who have never attended a major conference before.
A condition of all funding is that a meeting report is produced for the NEMN journal and website. (together with photographs if appropriate)
