Teresa Morris-Spicer - Chair

Teresa is a pharmaceutical chemist and CILIP accredited medical information professional.

Her current role as a Clinical Effectiveness Specialist at Bupa involves finding and critically appraising clinical information, assessing its validity, relevance and importance.

Teresa has a background in evidence-based medicine and medical information management working in the pharmaceutical, healthcare and charity sectors. Teresa also supports Bupa’s Medical Advisory Council.

Her hobbies include reading, social history and gardening.

Bill Mortimer - Vice Chair

Bill studied English at the University of Leeds and went on to study for an MSc in Library and Information Science part-time at Birmingham City university.

He became a chartered librarian in 2012 and currently works at the University of Bedfordshire as a liaison librarian, helping students and staff get the most out of the library.

Professionally, Bill is interested in information literacy and open access publishing. His other interests include travelling, hill-walking and dog walking.

Two of his favourite authors are Philip Roth and David Malouf.

Jon Anderson - Co-Treasurer

Jon is Information Services Senior Advisor at Cambridgeshire County Council.

The Treasurer manages budgets and business planning for the CILIP East Committee. This includes overseeing expenditure for events, promotional campaigns and outreach.

Claire Sewell - Candidate Support Officer

Claire Sewell is a Chartered librarian who works as Research Support Skills Coordinator in the Office of Scholarly Communication at Cambridge University Library.

Claire is the Candidate Support Officer, helping those at all levels work towards CILIP qualifications.

She qualified as a librarian in 2012 and Chartered in 2013. She is active within CILIP and currently serves on the Board of SLA Europe and the Editorial Board of the New Review of Academic Librarianship.

Kirstie Preest - Mentor Support Officer

Kirstie is a Chartered Librarian with 20 years' experience of academic and health libraries within a variety of subject areas.

Her role as Librarian and Fellow at Murray Edwards College, Cambridge, involves looking after the College’s library, archives and records management.

Kirstie's current research interests focus on teaching skills within the Librarian’s role (and peer supported training to enable this) and undertaking UX research to improve the student experience.

She is very interested in supporting new and existing library staff within the profession and is currently mentoring two candidates for Chartership, alongside supporting the region's mentors.

Marie Montague - Mentor Support Officer

Marie has worked in medical and academic libraries in the course of her career.

Joining CILIP East Members' Network Committee in 2018, she shares the role of Mentor Support Officer with Kirstie Preest.

Her hobbies include Scottish country dancing, walking and gardening in addition to an enthusiasm for crime drama.

Currently reading her way through Agatha Christie's Miss Marple books, she doesn't know why she hasn't read them before now!

Laura Moss - New Professionals' Support Officer

Laura Moss is the CILIP East Committee member responsible for supporting new professionals.

Laura graduated from UWE with an MSc in Information and Library Management in 2012.

She works as Library and Digital Resources Manager at a Sixth Form College in Cambridge.

Piotr Czosnyka - Special Interest Group Liaison

Piotr Czosnyka looks after the relationship between CILIP East and regional special interest groups.

The Eastern Region has a thriving collection of special interest groups including Youth Libraries Group (YLG) and Academic and Research Libraries Group (ARLG).

Eleanor Marsh - Sunrise Co-Editor

Eleanor works as a Graduate Trainee in the Albert Sloman Library at the University of Essex, and is based in Suffolk.

She has previously worked in both public and academic libraries, and has a particular interest in supporting students and staff with digital and information literacy skills.

She records reflections on her training via the Essex Library Graduate Trainees blog.

In her spare time, she is a singer-songwriter and also enjoys cooking, gardening and origami.

Mary Kattuman - Sunrise Co-Editor

Mary did an MA in Library and Information Studies from UCL and was in a couple of cataloguing posts.

She did the retrospective conversion of the Indic material in the guardbook catalogue of Cambridge University Library and now catalogues English language material there.

She is a co-editor of the Sunrise newsletter and is always delighted to get contributions!

Colleen Fitzgerald - Social Media Co-ordinator

Colleen holds a Master of Library Science degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona, USA and is currently working towards Chartership.

She has 20 years' broad experience working in library settings including IBM, the National Council for the Blind Ireland, and Dublin Institute of Technology.

She currently lives in the UK and works for the Central Bedfordshire Council library service.

Lyndsey Goddard - Web and E-Bulletin Editor

After completing her BA in English at the University of Leicester in 2003, Lyndsey fell into librarianship when she helped to set up a Library Access Point in her home village. No stranger to volunteering, she has had a variety of jobs from library graduate trainee to receptionist at a pharmaceutical company.

Lyndsey studied for an MA in Information and Library Management via distance learning whilst working full time as a Library Assistant in Higher Education and wishes she'd allowed herself more time to write her dissertation. She works as Assistant Librarian at an independent boarding school in Cambridge.

Her hobbies include music and drama: she is a regular performer in amateur theatre productions and in music events with Sing! Choirs. Like many librarians she is a devotee of crime drama, and has written three murder mystery plays.

Having said that, her favourite book is still <1>Pride & Prejudice by Jane Austen.

Mehves is currently serving as an Ordinary Member of the CEMN Committee.

Annie Gleeson - Committee Member

Annie gained her MA in Library and Information Studies from UCL in 2012, and is currently the Librarian at Churchill College, University of Cambridge.

Her professional interests include library marketing and advocacy, and information literacy. She previously served on the CILIP East committee as New Professionals Support Officer and Chair.

Annie helps to run #uklibchat, a monthly Twitter chat for information professionals. Her hobbies include cooking (and eating the results!), musical theatre and travelling.

Her favourite authors include J.R.R. Tolkien, George R.R. Martin and John Green.
