Mike is an Assistant Librarian at the University of Winchester where he has been in post since 2018. Previously he worked for 13 years in a Sixth Form College. Mike graduated from Northumbria University in 2015 with an MA in Library
& Information Management where he completed his dissertation on the effectiveness of social media as a marketing tool for FE College libraries. This then formed the basis of an article, "Library 2.0: The effectiveness of social media as a marketing tool for libraries in educational institutions"
published in the Journal of Librarianship & Information Science in 2019. Library marketing continues to be a keen interest of Mike's and something he has organised and lead training on with ARLG Southern. Mike joined the committee

Committee Member: Olena Waskiewicz
I have worked in University of Winchester Libraries since 2013, currently as Senior Library Assistant for Subscriptions and Technical Services. During that time I have set up a series of Human Library events at Winchester University and Winchester Discovery Centre, where visitors had a unique opportunity to talk to ‘Human Books’ coming from all walks of life. You can read about it in this short blog post. I am also a part time lecturer in Institute for Value Studies, and Earth Based Spirituality Advisor for the University. With this last hat on, I mentor members of the student contemplative community and facilitate contemplative retreats. I have been a member of ARLG Committee since 2018 and I have enjoyed creating opportunities for CPD for fellow library workers.
