The Public and Mobile Library Group provides information, training, development and networking opportunities to all levels of staff working in public and mobile libraries, as well as acting as an advocate for public library services across the UK.  The PMLG was formed from the previous Public Libraries Group (PLG) and Branch & Mobile Libraries Group (BMLG), who merged in 2013 to become the current unified group representing all public and mobile library staff working in the profession.

The PMLG encompasses all levels of membership - both frontline and backroom staff, from first job to senior management in public libraries, as well as mobile library staff from all fields.  PMLG is also a powerful advocate for its members and the sector as a whole, working hard to raise the profile of public and mobile library services across the UK and beyond.  The PMLG aditionally provides its members with a broad range of professional development opportunities, training, support and advice.
