Building successful teacher collaboration through FOSIL-based inquiry

This half-day online training event for school librarians will look at how to get started with approaching and working with teachers through inquiry.


9:30 am	Welcome, introductions, course objectives (10 min)
9:40 am	Presentation: IFLA School Library Guidelines and why they are important. Exploring ways to find out what is being taught. Backward design and why it is important. Exploring ways to approach teachers with the idea of introducing them to an inquiry framework e.g. FOSIL (20 min)
10:00 am	Group discussion An open guided discussion about the first presentation. (20 min)
10:20 am	Presentation Exploring The FOSIL Group website and its features An explanation of teacher interview technique. (20 min)
10:40	Refreshment Break (20 min)
11:00 am	Breakout rooms using teacher interview technique Activity: Each group of two will be given a scenario and teacher responses (30 min)
11:30 am	Feedback from breakout rooms task and group discussion (30 min)
12:00 pm	Ideas to takeaway (15 min)
12:15 pm	Q & A and closing remarks (15 min)
