How to Fail Better: learning, realism and the inexorable pursuit of success

Tuesday 10 November 2020 10am-1pm

Half-day online workshop using Zoom

“We are all failures, at least the best of us are.” J. M. Barrie

Everyone knows that we learn through failure but this knowledge does not change the way we feel about it or our desperate attempts to avoid it. We still see failure as a bad thing even though it is rarely a result of negative action on our part.

The intention of this half-day online training workshop is to help attendees to be more realistic about failure so that they don’t put unnecessary and damaging pressure on themselves in the future and lead by example with others when failure occurs.

Presented and guided by Andy Priestner, attendees will take a frank but inspiring look at failure in their working lives through presentations, activities; debate; and sharing and discussion in groups.

Why you should attend

By attending this half-day event participants will:

  • Start to learn to embrace rather than fear failure
  • Consider what they have learned from past failures
  • Question our focus on the goal of success rather than the journey to it

This training session will support the following PKSB areas:

12.5 Communication skills
12.6 Networking skills

This training session is a satellite event of CILIP Conference Reimagined

We are currently experiencing some issues with registering for events. For the past couple of days we have discovered the problems are occuring in the afternoon and evening. If you are trying to book, please try in the morning. If that fails, please contact events@cilip.org.uk.
