A CILIP Training Session for Staff Working in Public Libraries
Online, Half-Day Course
12 September 2023 10am-1pm
This workshop covers key social media platforms, why they're so important to public libraries, how they work and which types of content are most effective on each. We’ll aim to increase delegates’ understanding of the uses of social media and confidence in sharing content for posting.
Course level:
This course is suitable for staff at all levels. This session is aimed at staff working at all levels in libraries across GLL’s five partnership authorities to increase awareness, understanding and confidence around social media. - Increase understanding of the key social media channels: Instagram, Twitter and Facebook including their offers and benefits.
 - Understand the kinds of content best suited for library social media accounts to boost engagement and visibility.
 - Gain confidence about social media through understanding, collaboration and practice in small groups
 - Gain inspiration and ideas to engage with social media
 -  Learn the basics of posting (as useful info, even if you’re not responsible for posting).
