The Hosts directory is a list of CILIP members and international colleagues who are willing to host, for a day or two at most, a fellow librarian who is visiting their area. One of the original purposes of this directory was to help librarians looking for accommodation for conference attendance.  Hosts are located across the globe - please see the map below.

For the host it is a chance to meet colleagues from other countries, to share experiences and to contribute, in a small way, to building bridges to international understanding and co-operation within our library profession.

For the visitor/guest, it is a chance to get to know, at first hand, something of the life of a fellow professional in another country as well as the opportunity to stay with a colleague for free or at limited cost.

Prospective hosts should read the Guidelines for hosts and complete the Registration for hosts. Visitors who are looking for a host should check the Map of hosts to see if there are any hosts in the area they intend to visit and contact the Hosts directory administrator by email at ciliphostsdirectory@gmail.com. Participation is entirely voluntary and no host is obliged to provide accommodation.
