Academic resources currently free during the Covid-19 crisis
All of these normally paid for resources have allowed free access for schools in the UK during the crisis. Usually this is by extending the free trial periods, so you can sign up for that to get your access. We have also included some resources that are very useful and always free.
JCS online resources
A huge range of academic databases. This includes the Massolit Library of academic video lectures for History, English, Politics and other humanities. Also the huge database of Drama Online. This is a great offer, and very useful for students who are doing their EPQ’s. It also includes the Gale resources as well.

EMC (English and Media Centre)
They are offering a free KS3 downloadable home learning pack
Education Platform from the Copyright Licensing Agency
Once you sign your school up for free you can activate copies of any text books you hold.This allows teachers to digitally assign pages of those books to students via a simple email link for home learning. Copyright restrictions are the same as photocopying, but a really
useful resource as you don’t have to sign students up to the platform, only teacher logins.

Scholastic resource packs
Scholastic free access: 'We’re offering all teachers and children in affected UK schools completely FREE access to Scholastic Reading Pro and Reading Pro Library for the duration of the school closures.* Simply email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with the number of free licences you require for your staff and pupils and we'll set you up from there. We'll also provide you with full instructions for you to send on to parents so they can set their child up from home.
*Access to Scholastic Reading Pro and Reading Pro Library will be free to all UK schools during COVID-19 closures. After the Department for Education re-open schools, we'll provide all participating users with a further 2 weeks of free access to download all linked reports and data.'
Ted Ed Always free - browse educational videos & animations, create customised lessons etc
NLA Newspapers for Schools (Always free) -NLA’s free Newspapers for Schools archive holds newspaper articles from all the major national titles, as well as many regional papers. Teachers at licensed schools are eligible to set up an account, search the database going back to 2006, and access relevant clippings to share with students.

Exact Editions - Exact Editions have partnered with 8 publishers to offer schools free access to the digital archives of their magazines until the 1st October 2020. The participating magazines are: Chemistry World, New Internationalist, Geographical Prospect,The Biologist, Resurgence & Ecologist, BBC History Magazine, BBC Music Magazine, BBC Science Magazine, The World Today.
