BAME Network

Introduction to the CILIP BAME Network (CBN)

The BAME Network has been established to provide a forum for librarians and information professionals from Black Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds to share their experiences, support each other and network.

Working with CILIP and other partners, the Network will support the advancement of BAME professionals in the workforce and the development of diverse library, knowledge and information services.

The launch of the CILIP BAME Network is an important step in addressing the under-representation of People of Colour within the library and information workforce as identified in the CILIP/ARA Workforce Mapping data (2015).

For more details about the objectives of the BAME Network please consult our Terms of Reference and meet the CILIP BAME Network Steering Committee.
