This session will help delegates to engage more confidently with artificial intelligence (AI) as an important topic of public debate and an increasingly important dimension of how people search for and use information. As well as providing an introduction
    to what AI is, the session will consider the uses and potential uses of AI in public libraries now and in the near future.
Course Level
This session is suitable for staff at all levels who want to know more about artificial intelligence (AI) and its application to public library services. You do not need any prior knowledge of AI or technical skills to attend.
Learning Objectives
    - Be able to discuss what AI is and some examples of its use
 
    - Appreciate the potential implications for libraries
 
    - Engage with public interest and concerns about AI
 
    - Understand how generative AI can be used in practical ways in public library work
