This session examines how to use data to deliver more effective library services. It will look at what data sources are available, what issues to consider when collecting data and how to analyse it. Using examples from public library services, this session will give insight and ideas to deliver events and activities and develop services that can provide impact and benefit library customers.
Course Level
This session is suitable for staff at all levels. It may be of particular interest to staff planning events and undertaking evaluation or those using library data in reports and funding applications.

About the trainer
Diana Edmonds, Library Consultant
Diana is an entrepreneur with a passion for developing and improving public services. A library consultant specialising in the development of public libraries, Diana was until recently, the National Libraries Director for GLL, responsible for the management of library services in five public library authorities. Previously she was the Assistant Director for Cultural Services in the London Borough of Haringey, responsible for a dramatic improvement in the performance of the library services there.
Diana is a trustee of Libraries Connected, the organisation which brings together senior librarians across the country. She has written many books and papers, and is a frequent speaker.
