has had over forty years experience in Library and Information Services in Pharmaceutical R&D, but has retired. He was a Senior Information Scientist working for Eli Lilly & Co. Ltd. (a US Pharmaceutical
Company) at their UK R&D Site in Windlesham in Surrey.
His main role was providing Competitive Information for the Research Scientists in Biology, but he also provides general knowledge management for the site and biomedical research information to all parts
of the company. Up until 2000 he was the site Librarian so his main background is Library and Information Science. In 2009 John became a Fellow of Cilip. Particular interests are Reference Manager
Tools, Research Data Management, Information Retrieval and Company Social Networking Tools.
For 7 years he was Hon. Secretary of UKeiG, then became Vice-Chair and has recently been elected as Chair.

Richard is a Knowledge and Library Services Manager for NHS England. He is part of its Knowledge for Healthcare team which supports NHS libraries achieve strategic priorities. He works on optimising
the use of electronic resources and discovery systems by NHS staff.

Gary Horrocks - UKeiG Business Co-ordinator and editor of eLucidate
Gary is a freelance writer, researcher, editor, librarian, information scientist and professional development events planner with over twenty-five years’ experience working in higher education, with a ten-year track record as a senior strategic manager and director.
He has considerable understanding of the research, teaching & learning needs affecting the provision of information services in a multidisciplinary, complex and demanding university environment. His UKeiG business coordinator role includes overseeing the planning and strategic development of the Group's high profile CPD programme, international awards management, editing UKeiG's open access publication eLucidate, marketing and publicity.
He also provides executive support to the further education organisation CoLRiC, the Council for Learning Resources in Colleges. As an aside, he's a curator of the memory and legacy of the great Judy Garland, and has been editor of her international fan club journal since 1998, contributing to numerous TV, radio and theatrical events.
