CILIP President David Stewart visited Northern Ireland last week for an informal “Meet the President” social event. Held on Wednesday 18th September 2019 in the lovely setting of the Senate Room at Queen’s University, Belfast CILIP Ireland members enjoyed an evening of networking, discussion and knowledge sharing over drinks and canapés.

David delivered a highly engaging presentation in which he talked about his presidential themes and CILIP’s range of initiatives and offers to members. Jim O’Hagan, Chief Executive of Libraries NI was the evening’s second speaker. Jim reflected on the achievements of Libraries NI over the last ten years and provided an outline of the next steps for his organisation.

Reflecting on the evening David said, “this was a fantastic event with a very warm welcome from Northern Ireland’s librarians and a real opportunity to hear how to run a public library service!”
