Each year CILIP Ireland collaborates with the Library Association of Ireland (LAI) to deliver a Joint Conference. The Joint Conference runs on a three yearly cycle with the LAI taking the lead for two years and CILIP Ireland taking
the lead every third year. It offers an opportunity to learn about work in other libraries and other library sectors across the island of Ireland.

In 2021 the annual Joint Conference was held virtually for the first time providing an online platform for librarians and information professionals across the island of Ireland and beyond to come together. In keeping with the three year cycle,
CILIP Ireland took the lead in terms of conference planning and delivery. The conference theme was “Vision and Revision: Virtual Libraries and New Beginnings” and over 250 delegates enjoyed a packed programme over two days. You can view
