Launch of the CILIP MCG Marketing Excellence Awards 2022

 

CILIP’s Marketing and Communications Group (MCG) are delighted to announce the launch of the Marketing Excellence Awards 2022. The Awards recognise and celebrate successful marketing and promotional campaigns from libraries of all sizes and sectors across the country.

The awards offer national exposure for your project and communicate the value of what you're doing among funders, partners, media, peers, managers and customers. You've done the hard work, delivering your project. Now win some extra recognition!

Eligibility:

Campaigns run between January 2021 and May 2022 are eligible for entry to the awards. You do not need to have completed your marketing activities but you must have enough information to complete all questions on the form, one of which is about evaluation of your campaign.

Libraries from all sectors and of all sizes are encouraged to enter the awards. Your campaign can be small or large, no budget or tiny budget – all entries will be judged against our set criteria (see below).

Complete the form with all relevant details about your marketing campaign and send to secretary.mcg@cilip.org.uk by 5pm on Monday 27th June 2022.

You may attach an additional file with images of promotional materials from your campaign.

Judging criteria:

The awards are judged against the following criteria:

  • Success in meeting the original aims and objectives of the campaign
  • Suitability of the concept/content to target market
  • Quality of graphics, design and copywriting (where appropriate)
  • Range, effectiveness and appropriateness of the marketing communications used
  • Timing, message and consistency of marketing communications
  • Evaluation of campaign, demonstrating evidence of impact on the community or target audience (such as customer interaction, feedback, attendance, media coverage)
  • Effective use of non-financial resources
  • Effective use of project budget

Entrants are encouraged to evidence each of these areas in their entry, with a focus on the marketing campaign itself rather than the service/project being marketed. We’re interested in what you did, how you did it and whether or not it was effective.

The deadline for submission is 5pm on Monday 27th June 2022.

The awards will be presented at the annual MCG Conference, held in January 2023.
